Lessons learned from Katrina include the critical need for community planning for emergency preparedness for children, adults and elders with disabilities.   In the coming months, we’ll present information and resources on local, state, and national efforts to improve emergency preparedness for individuals with disabilities. 

The Watertown Fire Department - working with the Police Department and the Board of Health - leads the town’s response to emergencies.  Information on disability-specific planning for emergency preparedness in Massachusetts can be found on the Disability Policy Consortium’s (DPC) website.
