To continue our ongoing series on emergency preparedness and individuals with disabilities (see the postings for Emergency Peparedness (1) and (2) on this blog), check out the transcript of Attorney Lois Simpson’s moving keynote presentation from the conference - Lessons Learned from Katrina - sponsored by the Disability Law Center, the Disability Policy Consortium and others at the Airport Hilton earlier this year.

Ms. Simpson is the Executive Director of the Advocacy Center a New Orleans-based legal services organization serving individuals with disabilities and senior citizens statewide in Louisiana.   Her powerful presentation emphasizes the critical need for improved emergency preparedness in our communities and especially for individuals with disabilities of all ages and all walks of life.
