The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission sent the Watertown Commission on Disabilities information to share with our Community about Assistive Technology (AT), which may be of interest to individuals with disabilities and their families. AT can be a ‘device’ or ‘service’ that increases, maintains or improves the functional capabilities of people with disabilities. Assistive Technology devices and services such as modifications to buildings, rooms and other facilities help people with disabilities do what they are able to do better and longer. Here is a small list of programs that the MRC has available. These sites are also listed on our Resource Page.
The Home Modification Loan Program provides low and no interest loans to modify the homes of adults and children with disabilities, and elders. There is even a program for Landlords.
Mass MATCH is the Commonwealths initiative to Maximize Assistive Technology (AT) in Consumer’s Hands.
MASS ACCESS is a Registry of Accessible Housing in Massachusetts helping people with disabilities find accessible housing.
The Massachusetts Assistive Technology Loan Program is operated by easter Seals Massachusetts and funded throught state and federal grants to the Mass Rehab Commission.
